Admissions Information

Program applicants should have earned a Bachelor's degree with a 3.0 GPA or better (on a 4.0 point scale) from a regionally accredited college or university and have professional administrative experience in a law firm or related field. For the master's program, graduate level coursework will also be considered in the evaluation process. In order to be awarded either the certificate or degree credential, students must apply and be accepted into the respective program.


Application Information

Apply now via the web - an Electronic Graduate Admissions application is available through GW's website at http://www.gwu.edu/gradinfo. This online process allows you to submit your graduate application and electronically send requests for letters of recommendation.

To receive a printed application by mail, please call 1-800-JOIN-GWU. If you choose to complete a paper application, submit the following documents to The George Washington University, College of Professional Studies, Office of Admissions, 805 21st St.NW, Suite 301, Washington, DC 20052

  • Current resume with education and work history
  • Statement of Purpose, a 250- to 500-word essay giving your academic objectives, research interests, and career plans
  • Two professional or academic references, preferably one from a current supervisor
  • One official or certified transcript from each institution of higher education attended, whether or not a degree was conferred
  • Completion of the admissions application form with non-refundable application fee, payable to The George Washington University
  • International applicants may need to submit Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores

Fall Admission: May 1
Spring Admission: November 1
Summer Admission: March 1
