The George Washington University (GW) has created a comprehensive group of graduate programs that responds to the need for highly skilled and adaptable leadership in legal and service firms. Jointly sponsored by the GW College of Professional Studies and The Hildebrandt Institute, these unique, flexible programs provide law firm professionals with the business and leadership knowledge they need to succeed in the fast-growing law firm industry. Faculty from the GW School of Business and The Hildebrandt Institute provide in-depth expertise to program curriculum and instruction.
Customized for the working professional, GW's programs allow certificate- or degree-based learning. Graduate Certificate in Law Firm Management may stand alone as a program that will provide immediate benefit to any law firm manager. Stacked and combined with law firm leadership courses and an Independent Research project, students may obtain a Master of Professional Studies in Law Firm Management.
The graduate certificate is a 12-credit accelerated program which takes approximately six months to complete. Begin with a nine-day In-Classroom Residency (6 credits) at GW's Alexandria Graduate Education Center, followed by multimedia Online Distance Learning (3 credits), and culminate in a four-day Capstone Residency (3 credits).
Students receive the master's degree after successfully completing the certificate, 12 credits of law firm leadership, and six-credits of Independent Research. This stacking model is ideal for current law firm managers. GW's world-class faculty members team with experts in the field - including a partnership with The Hildebrandt Institute to provide both academic and hands-on learning experiences.
