The George Washington University Summer Publishing Institute for Professionals
The GW Summer Publishing Institute for Professionals, an intensive five-day institute designed for experienced publishing professionals, will address both the opportunities and the challenges emerging in print, digital, and Internet publication today. Participants will analyze competitive strategies for coping with the radical changes currently redefining the publishing industry.
Registration will be limited, to allow attendees the benefit of an intimate, interactive professional experience. Participants will focus on the tools, techniques, and new business models needed to develop successful electronic, as well as print, publications.
MPS candidates will be required to attend as the one-credit course. This institute will provide students with a rare opportunity to meet publishers, learn the latest technological and other changes in the industry, and observe how top management handles them.
Summer Institute Format
The seminar is devoted to different issues of primary importance to the publishing industry.
 Degree Requirements
Students are required to complete 30 credits of graduate work. A grade-point average of 3.0 is required for graduation. Student who receive a grade of C in more than 6 credit hours are subject to suspension. Students who receive a grade of F must confer with the dean before enrollment for further course work is allowed.
