 Degree Requirements
Eleven graduate courses (33 credit hours) are required for completion of the graduate program in MIS (each course is 3 credit hours.) Students are required to maintain a cumulative grade point average of B (3.0 on a 4.0 scale.) More than one grade of C is unacceptable and may be grounds for dismissal. Once entered in a degree program, students are expected to be continuously enrolled and actively engaged in fulfilling the requirements for the degree each semester (Fall/Spring) of the academic year until the degree is conferred. Summer courses are available, but not required. A student not registering for coursework may register as a continuous enrollment student during a single semester or must request and be granted a leave of absence or assignment of inactive status. Students failing to follow these procedures will be required to apply for readmission and, if granted, are subject to the requirements and regulations then in force. Four prerequisites are required for the degree but do not have to be satisfied prior to admission. Prerequisites are required in the areas of programming, systems analysis, and database. Applicants who have academic or experiential deficiencies in these areas may be required to take prescribed background courses, workshops or other forms of preparation upon beginning course work in the program. ISTM 210/287 is a capstone project course and is taken in the last semester of study.
