The Professional Master of Business Administration Program (part-time) enables students to pursue their own dreams of business and make the most of their talents. Business means different things to different people, and your goals are personal. You may find success in a boardroom or design studio; in an entrepreneurial venture or international trade; in the private sector, government, or not-for-profit sector. The Professional MBA Program recognizes diversity and, most importantly, respects your individuality. This is accomplished through flexibility in course selection. An open and flexible atmosphere of academic excellence and practical experience characterizes the GW MBA Program.

The Professional MBA Program is designed for individuals who work on a full-time basis and who appreciate the advantages of applying what they learn in the classroom to their profession. The Professional MBA offers two options for pursuing the program, Flex and Accelerated. These options blend the ability to continue full-time employment while pursuing an MBA in as short a time period as two years or as long as five years. The curriculum for the Flex and Accelerated options are the same; the pace and intensity are different. In addition, the length and composition of the program may be modified with waivers and/or transfers of credit, depending on one's prior academic background.

Program Summary

GW's Professional MBA Program recognizes the needs and time constraints of working professionals. We have designed multiple formats for students to choose from. All offer the same core curriculum and are taught by highly regarded George Washington University faculty members who blend theory and practice.

One popular format for the student who wants to earn their MBA in 2 years while working full-time is the Accelerated MBA (AMBA). Students stay together in a cohort, or group, for one full year, enrolled in the core courses that total half of the required 48 credits for graduation. Core courses include Financial Accounting, Marketing Management, The World Economy, and Business and Public Policy. Upon completion of the core curriculum (24 credit hours), students choose elective courses among the 180 offerings at the Foggy Bottom, Alexandria, and Virginia Campuses. Most students fulfill all the requirements in 2 to 3 years.
