Program Format

In-classroom Residency

PSHC 201: Introduction to Healthcare Corporate Compliance (3 credits)
With this 12-credit accelerated program, students earn a graduate certificate in seven months through a three-segment cohort format. Students attend two residencies at GW's Alexandria Graduate Education Center, with an online distance learning segment between All 12 credits are required to receive the certificate.

Online Distance Learning

PSHC 202: Compliance with Specific Laws and Regulations (6 credits)
This course covers discrete compliance topics providing students with an in-depth exploration of the healthcare laws and regulations of particular concern to regulators.

Capstone Residency

PSHC 203: Case Studies in Health Care Corporate Compliance (3 credits)
Apply the principles, laws, and regulations learned during the development of their corporate compliance workplans in PSHC 201 and PSHC 202. Utilizing a case study approach, students investigate and analyze compliance issues and test their diagnostic and remediation skills in applying this knowledge to real-world situations.

Stackable Credentials (transfer of credit)

Credits earned through the Graduate Certificate may be applied toward a Master's of Public Health degree from the GW School of Public Health and Health Services for those students who meet the applicable admission criteria.

Certificate Completion Requirements

To earn the Healthcare Corporate Compliance Graduate Certificate, students must complete the 12 credit program and maintain a grade point average of 3.0 (B) or higher.
