Admissions Information
Students applying for admission must meet the entrance requirements of the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS). A bachelor's degree with a minimum grade point average of B (3.0) in the last two years of undergraduate study from a recognized institution is generally required.
The following documents should be submitted to the Office of Graduate Admissions in the School of Engineering and Applied Science:
- Completed application form with nonrefundable application fee of $60.00
- Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended, whether or not a degree was earned. Transcripts should be sent to: EMSE Off Campus Programs, The George Washington University, 1 Old Oyster Point Rd., Suite 200, Newport News, VA 23602
- Statement of purpose (250-500 words) that explains your reason for undertaking graduate study at The George Washington University
- Scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) by applicants whose native language is not English and who are not citizens of countries where English is an official language. Exceptions may be made for applicants who hold a degree from a university located in a country in which English is the official language and also the language of instruction at the university.

Spring I: November 15
(Exception: Students applying for financial aid should adhere to on-campus SEAS deadlines of Fall: April 1; Spring: October 1 and Summer: March 1.)
