The George Washington University's Doctor of Education in Educational Administration and Policy Studies is offered to those pursuing the highest level of preparation for positions in school administration, state- and federal-level administration, foundations, associations, and higher education. This doctoral program prepares students for leadership responsibilities within all facets of the educational arena. This is an academically rigorous program for educational leaders who are currently in, or aspire to, leadership careers.
The applicant must have adequate preparation for advanced study. In addition, the applicant must have completed graduate work in fields prerequisite to his or her objective and comparable to that required for the degree of Master of Arts in Education and Human Development at this university. Students with a Master's degree in a field other than education may be considered for doctoral study provided that the degree and previous experience are judged relevant by the program director.

Dissertation work is guided and supported by nationally-recognized faculty with extensive professional experience in educational administration and related fields.
