Admissions Requirements
In order to qualify for the Ed.D. degree program, students must be admitted to the Graduate School of Education and Human Development (GSEHD). Applicants are required to have:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
- Master's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education (minimum 3.3 GPA)
- Two letters of recommendation, one from a professional supervisor
- Acceptable scores on either the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT)
- Interview with the program advisor
 Application Procedure
Applications are accepted throughout the year. The Alexandria cohort begins each fall semester while Loudoun and Newport News cohorts begin each spring semester. Please contact the program to inquire about space availability.
Applicants to the GSEHD are required to submit:
- Completed graduate online application with non-refundable application fee
- Official transcripts from each college or university attended
- Official GRE or MAT scores
- Two letters of recommendation
- Statement of purpose (750-1,200 words)
- Current resume
- Copies of any teaching or administrative certifications or licenses

Transfer of Credit
No transfer credit is accepted into the Doctor of Education in Educational Administration and Policy Studies program.
